Journeys

Bolivia- The Tibet of the Americas

Bolivia, a land of deserts, mountains, canyons and jungles. It hides untold mysteries waiting to be uncovered. Unique Pre-Inca, Inca and Spanish treasures are still intact. Perhaps the most dramatic landscapes in South America, the largest Lake on the continent and the greatest variety of flora and fauna on the planet.

The Antarctic—Up to 40% discount. From Ushuaia to Ushaia, Argentina—starting at $6458 double.

Each cruise offers a full program of shore excursions, using Zodiacs to search out the best wildlife encounters and photographic opportunities for our clients. The ´Professor Molchanov´ is a modern and comfortable oceanographic research vessel. Built in 1983 in Finland, designed as ice-strengthened vessels it has been converted for passenger use and is ideally suited for expedition cruising. It has a good anti-roll system, a range of 70 days independent operation and is ISM certified.

Bolivia

Two weeks visiting the highest capital on earth- La Paz; Lake Titicaca and its Moon and Sun Island; Tiwanacu ruins, one of the oldest civilizations in the Americas and still a mystery to archeologists. Sucre and Potosi, declared Patrimony of Mankind by the United Nations.  Uyuni Salt Pans, the largest in the world – a sea of salt, in a fantasy world of its own. It looks like an endless frozen over lake or a white expanse of desert.

Croatia: One week cruising from Dubrovnik to Split. One week overland to Zagreb through Montenegro.

With over a 1000 islands in the Adriatic to explore, innumerable bays and coves, glorious unspoiled beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters, magnificent mountain views, delicious gastronomy, 8 beautiful National Parks brimming with wildlife and a Mediterranean climate balmy enough to grow palms, vines and olives, it is not difficult to see why Croatia is a very popular holiday destination. One of the best ways to enjoy the Dalmatian Islands is on a traditionally built, wooden sailing gullet—our specialty! Join me in this visit to the country I was born in and where I still have many personal friends!

Northern Argentina and Chile:
Famous vineyards and ancient trade routes.

We will start in Santiago, Chile and visit the wineries of the Santa Cruz area crossing the Andes to Northern Argentina’s less traveled paths. From Mendoza’s celebrated wine region we will continue into the delightful colonial cities of Salta and Tucuman staying in historical wineries and haciendas. Before the coastal areas were developed by the Spaniards, this was the most heavily populated region of what is now modern Argentina. Rich in cultural, historical and archaeological significance, the provinces of Salta and Jujuy offer much to artists, travelers, historians and seekers of rest and relaxation. We will offer an extension to Bolivia and beautiful Lake Titicaca.

Egypt

Two weeks discovering the essence of this ancient land from Cairo and the Great Pyramids to a traditional sailing along the sacred Nile to Aswan. Experience the nomadic life in a remote desert camp. Extension to Syria or Malta, if possible.
