growing sectors of our industry. Field touring is
soft-adventure, where trip members move in private or
regular transport, stay in comfortable hotels and estancias,
and choose their meals at suggested restaurants. Some
programs may include easy hikes led by our knowledgeable
guides lecturing on the striking aspects of the place
and suggesting particular spots worth detouring to. |

| ESTANCIAS |

Argentina is the land of cattle
and open spaces where the 'Estancia', the large
estate ranch-farm, is its typical dwelling. Dozens of
these estancias dot Argentina and Chile. Some of them
are being opened for a limited number of guests a year.
Activities in these Estancias may involve wildlife
observation, horse riding, hiking, wine tasting and the
day-to-day activities of the estate. |

The Atacama Desert in Chile, Peru and Ecuador's forests
are the ideal places for this activity. Bikes are provided
in our trips which are fully supported by vehicles and
radio communication when necessary. Lodging is always
in the best possible hotel and inns, where the best food
is ready to satisfy our demanding guests. |

Backpacking means carrying on your
back all you need for survival in the wilderness. Our
backpack trips are designed for strong and experienced
hikers. Our expeditions vary widely in scope and in the
skills required. Usually, no prior experience is necessary,
but participants must be very fit. Ski programs take place
in the winter months, and range from day excursions to
Sky Resorts to full-fledged expeditions in the Patagonian
Ice Field. |
